Exploring your treatment options is the first step towards being on the path of self-discovery, connection, healing, and living a valued life. I understand the importance of finding a therapist who is a good fit for your unique needs. I work with adults of all ages and older adolescents, with a broad range of challenges. In addition to my experience and ongoing training, I bring honesty, compassion, direct dialogue, and humor to all of my work.
Areas of Focus for Psychotherapy:
· Eating Disorders or Disordered Eating/Exercise
· Anxiety & Stress
· Life Transitions (examples: having a baby, getting married, retirement, career-related changes, ending a relationship, graduation)
· Depression
· Grief & Loss
· Trauma
· Prenatal & Postpartum Problems
· Aging
· Relationship Struggles (examples: romantic, parent, child, co-worker)
· General Women’s Issues
INITIAL ASSESSMENT
After the free phone consultation, the next step is to schedule a 55-minute initial assessment. This initial appointment is to further assess goodness-of-fit, gather history and clinical information, establish initial treatment goals, or provide more appropriate referrals.
CONSULTATION & TRAINING
In addition to working directly with individuals in psychotherapy, I provide consultation services to both family members and health professionals. I am also available to offer clinical training to agencies, schools, and health-care professionals.
PRIVATE PAY
An initial phone consultation is provided free of charge. This phone consultation is to assess whether I can be of assistance to you or help with a referral to better meet your needs. Contact me at (916) 573-0566 or reach out via email at drlisapetersen@att.net to set up a free phone consultation.
I can provide you with a SuperBill (receipt) to assist you in seeking reimbursement from your insurance. Please contact your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you for an out-of-network provider.
I can also provide you with a receipt if you have a Health Savings Plan (HSA) or a Flexible Spending Allowance (FSA) and plan to use those funds to pay for therapy.
